Katsutoshi Yuasa, explores the meaning of art as ritual through the interpretation of the artist. Through the meticulous rendering of photographs and found imagery, he uses traditional Japanese wood carving techniques to create prints he is able to explore "the narrative that lies behind the visual". Similarily to my practice he implores the combination of two techniques. This combination allows for a state of flux between the viewer and the painting. In comparison to my work I focus on the artists response and then through the destruction I am able to express the futility of the final product.
